Russian troops are advancing in the Kupyan, Lyman, and Bakhmut directions to capture new settlements in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. Alexander Syrskyi, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, wrote about this in a telegram – against the background of reports in Ukrainian telegram channels about a number of tactical successes of Russian troops, especially near Bakhmut.

According to Syrskyi, the main efforts of the Russian army are now focused on the Bakhmut direction. “For the conduct of assault operations, the most combat-capable units of the landing forces, the marines, and the Storm Z and Storm V units formed from former criminals are used,” the Ukrainian general writes. According to Syrskyi, the goal of the Russian troops is clear – “this is an attack on the settlement of Chasov Yar, then on Konstantinovka, Druzhkovka, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk with a subsequent exit to the borders of the Donetsk region.”

Russian troops are also attacking in the direction of Makeevka (Luhansk region, Lyman region) and Synkovka near Kupyansk (Kharkov region). Syrsky described the situation as complicated: “We have to fight in conditions of superiority of the enemy, both in weapons and in the number of personnel.” At the same time, he noted that Russian troops are suffering heavy losses.

In recent days, there have been reports of the advance of Russian troops in the Bakhmut area. After the capture of this city, the Ukrainian military units of the PMC “Wagner” attacked near Bakhmut, but in recent weeks, Russia has gone on the offensive again. The main blows are made to the north-west of Bakhmut. The day before, according to a number of reports, Russian troops managed to advance and start fighting for the settlement of Ivanovskoye, not far from Chasova Yara – this is a relatively large settlement following Bakhmut in the western direction. A video of the advance of the Russian infantry was published by the Telegram channel Deep State – as he notes, the Russian troops have a great advantage in manpower, thanks to which the infantry “in full growth, like the Red Army once was, is moving in the direction of Ivanovo. This explains the enemy’s success on this site”. Officially, neither the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces nor the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the latest battles.

Since October, Russian troops have also stormed Avdeyevka and captured a number of positions, but in recent days, as follows from Syrsky’s words, they have focused their attention on the Bakhmut direction.
