The State Service of Geology and Subsoil has suspended the validity of licenses for the development of two deposits in Kharkiv and Poltava regions of the company Enwell Energy, which is part of the “Smart-Holding” group of Vadym Novinsky.

About this informs Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the order No. 232 of the State Geonadre and the stock exchange notification of Enwell Energy, the company’s statement at the disposal of the EP.

Enwell Energy, a company registered in Britain from the “Smart-Holding” group, had licenses for the development of the subsoil of Vasyshchivskoye (Kharkiv region) and Svistunkivsko-Chervonolutskyi (Poltava region) gas condensate deposits.

By order of May 4, the State Geodesy suspended the validity of these licenses due to the introduction of sanctions against former deputy of the People’s Republic Vadym Novinskyi.

In January, Novinsky’s Smart-Holding group stated about the completion of the round of restructuring, as a result of which its founder decided to transfer assets to a trust. However, the Ministry of Justice subsequently canceled such registration actions regarding changes in the ultimate beneficial owners of “Smart-Holding”, as well as Novinsky’s companies “Ukrgazvydobutok” and “Regal Petroleum Corporation (Ukraine) Limited”.

Enwell’s stock exchange announcement states that the company is ceasing production at the Vasyshchivskoye field, which provides approximately 12% of the group’s production. Field work at the Svistunkivskoe-Chervonolutsk deposit has already been and will be suspended. K

Earlier, the State Geological Survey suspended the license of the company “Ukrgazvydobutok” for the Ostroverkhiv gas condensate field (Kharkiv region) – also due to sanctions. In addition, Derzhgeonadr is waiting for Regal Petroleum Corporation Limited to provide additional information and/or eliminate violations in the disclosure of information about the ultimate beneficiaries of two more fields in the Poltava region by June 1.

The Smart-Holding group believes that the Ministry of Justice violated international and Ukrainian legislation by its actions “and forcibly returned Vadym Novinsky to the ultimate beneficiaries of the companies of the Smart-Holding Group, grossly violating the rights of Cypriot trustees.”

This action, the group explained, made it possible to seize other Smart Holding companies, in particular, real estate and shipbuilding assets, as well as suspend the licenses of Enwell Energy, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The group declares that the actions of the Security Service and the Ministry of Justice are illegal and have no legal basis for the accusations. “We declare that we will defend our rights in courts of various jurisdictions,” Smart Holding said in a statement.

We remind you:

Department of Justice canceled registration actions regarding changes in the ultimate beneficial owners of “Smart-Holding”, “Ukrgazvydobutok” and “Regal Petroleum Corporation (Ukraine) Limited” Vadym Novinskyi.

In January of this year, the Smart Holding group of oligarch Vadym Novinsky stated about the completion of another round of restructuring, as a result of which its founder decided to transfer assets to a trust.

On May 4, according to the materials of the SBU, the court arrested hidden assets of the under-sanctioned oligarch, former People’s Deputy Vadym Novinsky for more than 10.5 billion hryvnias. The list of blocked assets includes 230 real estate objects that Novinsky owns through an offshore trust fund.
