The Tyumen anti-war activist was included in the list of extremists

Anton Kovryk, an anti-war activist from Tyumen, was included in the list of extremists of Rosfinmonitoring. This was reported by “Tyumen-bogaty region”.
On September 7, a criminal case was opened against Kovryk under the article on the financing of extremist activities due to donations from the Anti-Corruption Fund. The activist was detained in Omsk and transported to Tyumen. According to his mother, the transportation was explained by the “territorial nature of the alleged crime.”
The activist faces up to 8 years in prison. Kovryk and five other people were searched in the case of “FBK donations”. Searches in this case were also conducted in Irkutsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and Krasnoyarsk.
- Anton Kovryk was detained in Moscow on January 23, 2021 at a rally in support of opposition politician Alexei Navalny.
- Also in 2022, the activist was fined 40,000 rubles for picketing with the poster “Putin is a murderer! There is no war” under an article about the discrediting of the Russian armed forces. This fine was issued to Kovrik by the Leninsky Court of Tyumen.
- On June 9, 2021, the Moscow City Court declared FBK, the Fund for the Protection of Citizens’ Rights (FZPG) and the headquarters of Alexei Navalny to be extremist organizations.
