As noted, the permission was received on April 15.
Veon is 100% owned by the Russian telecommunications operator VimpelCom, which provides services under the Beeline brand.
In November 2022, it became known that he plans to transfer the Russian business to local top management.
The holding will receive 130 billion rubles ($1.64 billion) from the sale of the asset. The main amount of the transaction will be paid due to the fact that the Russian business will transfer part of the group debt to itself.
Vympelcom has the second largest number of subscribers (47 million) among all operators of the Veon holding, more than only the Pakistani Jazz (75.5 million).
For comparison, Veon has less than 25 million clients in Ukraine.
