“Natural resources are one of the important factors of Russian military aggression, which is often neglected. Forbes estimated the value of Ukraine’s minerals at $14.8 trillion,” the message says.
By the beginning of 2005, discovered reserves were estimated in government documents as “$150,000 per capita, and according to Western experts, more than $200,000”, which corresponded to a total estimate of $7-10 trillion.
Currently, this amount has grown to almost $15 trillion. At the same time, more than 70% of the total amount falls on only three regions — Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Luhansk.
Coal accounts for 62% of the total value of minerals, iron ore accounts for 14%, and each of the other assets accounts for less than 5%. The total volume of minerals is 111 billion tons.
