Vagit Alekperov, the head and main owner of Lukoil, earned the most of all Russians since the beginning of the year — the increase was $2.5 billion, and his fortune increased to $17.9 billion.
Among Russian businessmen, the top three leaders in terms of earnings since the beginning of 2023 also include the main owner of “Severstal” Alexey Mordashov (an increase of $1.54 billion) and the head of “Nornikel” Vladimir Potanin (+$1.32 billion).

According to Forbes, Alexey Mordashov suffered the biggest financial losses in 2022 — almost $11 billion.
Vagyt Alekperov, who lost $5.1 billion, and Tatiana Bakalchuk, who lost $8.3 billion, were also included in the top 10 impoverished Russian billionaires at the end of last year.
