The Ministry of Education of Russia deliberately conducts classes “Conversations about the important” not only for schoolchildren, but also for their parents. This was reported by Minister Sergey Kravtsov at the board meeting of the Association for Pedagogical Education on Sunday.
According to Kravtsov, the format of such busy people is being discussed now, “so that it would be really interesting.”
The minister also said that the weekly ceremony of raising the Russian flag and conducting “Conversations about the important” will be extended to pedagogical universities. Since September last year, the flag has been raised in Russian schools at the beginning of the school week.
Also, since last September, on Mondays, schools have been holding “Conversations of the Important” classes. Methodological recommendations for lessons are developed by the Ministry and reflect the position of the state. “Talks” are devoted either to history or to current social and political events, among other things, they included the topic of the so-called special military operation (that’s how the Russian authorities call the war in Ukraine). On February 13, for example, the video address of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was shown in the classes, and on February 20, the class will be devoted to the “Defender of the Fatherland Day” holiday. The Ministry of Education emphasizes that, although “Conversations about importance” are not considered a lesson, their attendance is mandatory. It is not clear how parents intend to participate in the “conversations”.
On February 16, the program “Conversations about Important”, duplicating classes of the same name in Russian schools, began to be shown on Channel One.
