Trout farm and waterfall: “Dossier”

The Dossier Center, linked to Mikhail Khodorkovsky, published a video dedicated to the object, which investigators call the unofficial residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Karelia. The investigators claim that they managed to get new photos and videos of the residence, which began to be built about ten years ago.

Three houses named “Fisherman’s Hut”, “Barn” and “Garden House” are said to have been built on the shores of the Bay of Lake Ladoga, Maryalakhty. But they do not look like a hut or a barn, but are built in a modern style, – notes “Dossier”. Also on the territory there are two helipads, several piers for yachts, a trout farm, as well as a farm with cows for the production of marbled beef.

According to the documents, the area of ​​the residence is about 1 square kilometer, but taking into account the fenced forests and bays, the territory is 4 square kilometers, which, according to the investigators, is twice the area of ​​the principality of Monaco.

It even included the four-meter Maryalakhta waterfall, which is part of the Ladoga Shchery National Park. Now access to it has been restricted, a fence with barbed wire and security have been installed, and a special gazebo has been installed opposite the waterfall, as the investigators claim, for Putin himself.

The construction of the new residence was reported by the TV channel “Dozhd” back in 2016. In 2022, “Meduza” and OCCRP wrote about her. It is asserted that the construction of the residence is being done by Putin’s “billionaire friends” from St. Petersburg, including Yuriy Kovalchuk, and according to the documents, it itself belongs to companies connected with Kovalchuk. Local residents claim that Putin visits the northern residence at least once an hour after visiting the Valaam Monastery. Officially, this object is not included in the number of state residences. The object remained in the shadows of the so-called Putin’s palace near Gelendzhik, the cost of construction of which was estimated at 100 billion rubles by the staff of the FBK Alexei Navalny who studied it.

At one of the houses, the journalists noticed an embankment, which, according to them, appeared after the war in Ukraine: according to the investigators, the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile system was installed on it to protect Putin. Earlier, Radio Svoboda journalists geolocated the installations of this complex not far from Putin’s Moscow residence.

The Kremlin has not yet commented on the investigation.
