In Spain, two Ukrainian vessels worth 10.2 million dollars were arrested, which they tried to hand over to the Russian state corporation “VEB.RF” for alleged Ukrainian debts.

According to the investigation, officials of state-owned enterprises in the water transport industry, in collusion with citizens of the Russian Federation, planned to transfer two Ukrainian fishing trawlers to the state development corporation “VEB of the Russian Federation” allegedly for Ukraine’s debts to the Russian Federation. Namely, as the payment of a fictitious debt for the imposition by Ukraine of arrests on the Russian assets of the “daughter” of “VEB.RF” – Prominvestbank.
“This criminal group leased two Ukrainian fishing vessels to a Russian company. They later tried to hand them over. To this end, officials of state-owned enterprises hired a crew of Russian citizens and drove the vessels to the Spanish port of Las Palmas,” the OGP noted.
Officials of state-owned enterprises transferred the funds received for renting ships to the bank accounts of controlled legal companies and bar associations for the provision of fictitious services and subsequently prepared them.
Law enforcement officers conducted a number of searches, investigative actions are ongoing, the OGP explained. Currently, together with the law enforcement agencies of the Kingdom of Spain, measures are being taken to prevent the Russian Federation from taking possession of these vessels.
The pre-trial investigation into the fact of aiding the aggressor state is carried out by the investigators of the GSU of the SBU.
