Ukrenergo announced one day with unlimited electricity for each region

In the next two weeks, Uerenergo will measure the actual consumption of electricity in each region, therefore, on one of the days in each region, the energy supply will not be limited, at the same time, the limits in other regions may be reduced. Corresponding changes in the schedule will begin on February 8. This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.

“Consumption restrictions will be completely lifted in each oblast for one day. Since there is a power deficit in the energy system caused by the Russian attacks, at the same time in areas where measurements are not taken on a specific day, the consumption limits may be slightly reduced,” the message states.
How limits are distributed
In the absence of massive attacks on the energy infrastructure, the indicative schedule of regime measurements is as follows:
- February 8: Zaporozhye, Donetsk, Mykolaiv regions;
- February 9: Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi regions;
- February 10: Volyn, Kyiv regions;
- February 13: Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Transcarpathian regions;
- February 14: Poltava, Cherkasy, Rivne, Luhansk regions;
- February 15: Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Sumy, Ternopil regions;
- February 16: Dnipropetrovsk region;
- February 17: Kyiv, Chernivtsi region;
- February 20: Lviv, Odesa regions.
What are the measurements for?
Ukrenergo explained that the measurement of actual consumption will allow to obtain data on how consumers behave when they have constant access to electricity.
“Such research, which is called mode measurement, allows you to determine exactly how much each region consumes during normal operation of the power system. Such measurements will make it possible to take into account the relocation of enterprises, population migration, actual changes in the general level and structure of consumption when setting limits,” Ukrenergo noted.
What will be affected by the results of the measurements
The obtained results, which will take into account changes in the population and the location of enterprises, will allow us to adjust the volume limits for each region and ensure a more uniform distribution of the available system capacity across regions.
