Ukrzaliznytsia expects a loss of more than 20 billion in 2023


According to the results of 2022, Ukrzaliznytsia received a net loss of UAH 10.8 billion, this year the company expects a loss of almost twice as much — UAH 20.2 billion. This is due to a large social burden and restrictions on cargo transportation, reports the press service of Ukrzaliznytsa.

“Tariffs for freight and passenger transportation are not planned to be raised,” the information notes.

In 2022, the damage from passenger transportation amounted to UAH 13.3 billion, and the state allocated UAH 10 billion to Ukrzaliznytsy to maintain liquidity and smooth operation of the industry.

Finplan-2023

According to the financial plan for 2023:

  • revenues are expected at the level of UAH 83.9 billion,
  • expenses — UAH 107.9 billion,
  • EBITDA (profit before deducting interest expenses, taxes and depreciation) — UAH 8.4 billion.

Also, the company plans to attract UAH 1.7 billion from the state budget and pay UAH 22.8 billion to the state.

It is expected that capital investments will amount to UAH 50 billion, which is 4 times more than in the past.
