USA and Great Britain: sanctions against pro-Russian officials

Pro-Russian officials in Bulgaria have been sanctioned by the United States and Great Britain.

Vechernye Vesty reports with reference to the State Department of the United States of America.

The United States and Great Britain joined forces to counter former officials from Bulgaria. The reason for the restrictions were corruption actions caused by the desire to achieve personal, illegally acquired benefits. Five former officials and all companies controlled by them were sanctioned. They introduced and strengthened the dependence of democratic countries on the energy resources of the aggressor country.

The following restrictions were imposed: Rumen Ovcharov, Hristov Nikolov, Ivan Genov, Nikolay Milanov, Vladyslav Goranov.

Democratic states are gradually cutting themselves off from the energy dependence associated with the Russian Federation, thus weakening its influence on the world around them.

Earlier, the USA provided a new aid package to the Ukrainian state.
