Journalist Vladyslav Flyarkovsky has been appointed to the post of director of the Institute of Mass Media and Advertising of the Russian State Humanitarian University. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Faculty of Journalism of RSSU.
Previously, this position was held by Nikolay Svanidze for 12 years. In mid-November last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin expelled Svanidze from the Human Rights Council. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Svanidze and several other members of the HRC signed a letter calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
Commenting on his dismissal from the post of director in December of last year, Svanidze noted that it was expected, since the “leveling of all playing fields” is now taking place, and they could not help but pay attention to it.
Vyacheslav Flyarkovsky graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University in 1985. He has been working on television since 1986. In particular, he was a presenter on the Rossiya channel, including a correspondent for the Vesty program, VGTRK, TV-6, and TV Center.
From 2015 to the present, he hosts the program “Cultural News from Vladislav Flyarkovsky” on the “Russia-Kultura” TV channel. He taught at RSSU for five years.
