The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi arrived on a working visit to Switzerland. On Monday, he met in Bern with the Chairman of the National Council of Switzerland Eric Nussbaumer, the head of the Council of Cantons of Switzerland Eva Herzog and leaders of parliamentary parties and factions. They discussed the situation at the front and the “peace formula” offered by Ukraine. Zelensky expressed gratitude to Switzerland for supporting the sovereignty of Ukraine and for humanitarian assistance to the country.

Zelensky also met with the President of Switzerland, Viola Amherd. They are confirmed its intention to hold a Global Peace Forum at the level of heads of state in Switzerland to discuss the possibilities of achieving peace in Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized that he would also like China to participate in this forum, which usually refrains from involvement in the Ukrainian agenda.

The opportunity to talk about this with representatives of China directly may be given to Zelensky at the World Economic Forum in Davos. As Politico reports, the Chinese delegation at the forum includes 10 ministers and is headed by Prime Minister Li Qiang. Politico’s source in US diplomatic circles said that the president of Ukraine could hold talks with her. In addition, he said, the Chinese delegation is seeking a meeting with Swiss President Amherd, although formally it is not part of the Davos Forum.

Zelensky reported in X social networks, that he will take part in the World Economic Forum and hold bilateral negotiations with representatives of the European Union and NATO. They will discuss the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, cooperation in the field of defense and economic security. In addition, the president wants to put on the agenda the issues of the return of Ukrainian children taken to Russia, sanctions and the freezing of Russian assets in Europe, issues of humanitarian demining of Ukrainian lands. His speech in Davos is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16.
