“Wagner Group” registered a legal entity in Belarus

A company named “Wagner Group” appeared in the state register of legal entities of Belarus. It is registered as an educational organization. However, her address coincides with the alleged location in Belarus of the mercenaries of PMC “Wagner” Evgeny Prigozhin.

An excerpt from the register is given by the publication “Rotonda”. According to it, the limited liability company “Wagner Group” was registered on August 4 in the district executive committee of the Osypovych district of the Mogilev region.

The main and only activity of the company is educational. In the register, such activity takes place under the code 85590. This code, “Rotonda” clarifies, includes training centers with remedial courses, advanced training courses, foreign language training, computer courses, survival courses, religious training, public speaking and speed reading training.

After the mutiny of PMC “Wagner” on June 23-24, PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin and the authoritarian leader of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced that units of “Wagner” would be redeployed to Belarus. According to numerous media reports, a tent camp was set up for them precisely in the Osypovych district, next to the already existing military unit. According to “Belarusian Gayun”, at least 11 columns of mercenaries with military equipment have already arrived there. The Belarusian authorities declared that “Wagnerovtsy” would be engaged in the training of military personnel.

Yevgeny Prigozhin himself registered his own legal entity in Belarus, declared as a property management company.

• The arrival of PMC “Wagner” in Belarus raised the concerns of Poland, Latvia and Lithuania, which border Belarus, who consider it a threat of military invasion or sabotage on their territories.
• On July 23, Alexander Lukashchenko said that “Wagnerov” would like to “go on an excursion to Warsaw, Rzeszów.” He later called his statement a joke.
• On July 29, the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, reported that more than 100 “Wagner” mercenaries in Belarus had been transferred to the borders of Poland and Lithuania, to the area of ​​the so-called Suwalki corridor – the territory that connects Poland and Lithuania and separates Belarus from the Kaliningrad region of Russia.
• Poland, Latvia and Lithuania are strengthening the protection of their borders with Belarus, closing some of the border crossings and increasing their military presence there.
