“We’ll warm up wherever our people are”: WOG donated more than 1,000,000 chemical heaters to the military

Hypothermia and frostbite are extremely insidious enemies in winter. Military personnel defending Ukraine on the front lines have very limited opportunities to keep warm. Understanding this need, the WOG gas station chain, in cooperation with the “+380” Charitable Fund, within the framework of the “We will warm up wherever our people are” project, purchased and handed over 1,000,000 chemical heaters to the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This is perhaps the largest one-time charitable supply of chemical heaters for the Defense Forces.
Defenders will receive two types of warmers: a pair of chemical hand warmers or a pair of shoe warmers. Their working temperature is up to 45-60 °C, which will keep and warm the defenders for up to 8 hours. Such heaters can be put in shoes to keep the feet warm, gloves, pockets, etc.
“To keep defenders warm, WOG purchased more than 1 million chemical heaters. We wanted to give them as a gift for the Christmas and New Year holidays, but the situation at the border prevented this. Despite the slight delay, the soldiers will receive much-needed support in the coming days.
The sets of chemical heaters will be distributed among the TRO units that protect Ukraine in the ranks of the Defense Forces,” he emphasized Gennadiy Karlinsky, marketing director of the WOG gas station network.
“The majority of servicemen today are in platoon base points (VOP) and company base points (ROP). It is difficult to equip these places with stoves and other means of heating.
And chemical warmers give military personnel the opportunity to at least minimally warm up, and, what is extremely important, to prevent hypothermia.
Any support for the defenders is important from the point of view of improving their moral and psychological state, and providing them with chemical heaters is also heating and assistance in preserving the health of the defenders,” he noted. “The synergy of responsible business and charitable organizations makes it possible to strengthen the defense capability and mobilization readiness of the country, helping to bring our Victory closer. At the moment, when the daily temperature is at -10°C, the servicemen of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine more than ever need individual means of heating, in particular chemical heaters for hands and feet.
That is why the collaboration of our foundation and the WOG gas station network within the project “We will warm up wherever our people are” is aimed at protecting servicemen who are currently in the area of combat missions,” he emphasized Oleksandr Pashinin, founder of the Charitable Foundation “+380”.
Assistance in the organization of operational logistics for the reception and shipment of humanitarian cargo was provided by the Charitable Organization “International Charitable Fund “Eurovector”.

Chemical heaters contain iron powder, activated carbon and substances that retain heat. They are stored in a tightly closed bag, which must be opened immediately before use, then under the influence of air, the mixture will heat up, and the heaters will warm the defenders for 4-8 hours.
