Professional yachtsman and decorator Mykola Konashyonok was detained in St. Petersburg. As reported by “Fontanka”, the police detained him at Pulkovo airport, from where he was planning to fly to Yerevan.

The reasons for the detention are not specified, but presumably it may be connected with Konashenko’s posts on the Internet concerning the terrorist attack on March 22 in Crocus City Hall near Moscow.

Konashenok reacted to the news about the terrorist attack with the words: “Why Krokus, and not the Kremlin? Are they confused?” Screenshots of Konashenko’s post went viral on many pro-military channels and caused outrage among users. The yachtsman’s blog is now closed.

Earlier on Monday, it became known that Konashenko’s wife, art manager Roksana Shatunovskaya, announced her resignation from the position of general director of the “New Holland” complex – a project that includes entertainment, educational and commercial initiatives, as well as numerous cultural events.

Shatunovskaya was engaged in the development of “New Holland” for more than 12 years. “I can no longer hold my position and fulfill my duties due to the fact that a family member allowed himself monstrous statements incompatible with humanity,” she said.

Konashyonok is a well-known figure in the social life of St. Petersburg. In the 2010s, he worked as a journalist, collaborating with such mass media as “Sobaka.ru”, “Kommersant”, “Afysha”. Then he started a career as a decorator, founded the furniture studio “Zubrovka”, and yachting. He also has a fortune in one of the St. Petersburg bars.

  • On the evening of Friday, March 22, several people in camouflage uniforms opened fire from machine guns in a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow (administratively, this is the Moscow suburb of Krasnogorsk). Then there was an explosion and a huge fire started. As a result of the terrorist attack, according to the latest data, 139 people died, including three children. At least 180 people were injured.
