15-year-old rapper Baby Melo was detained during a concert in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, during a concert, the police took 15-year-old rapper Baby Melo (Goga Meladze) off the stage, he was taken to the police department. This was reported by those who attended the concert on social networks.

The Baby Melo concert took place on the evening of January 21 at the Giant Hall club. At around 00:20, a video of policemen taking the rapper into a police car appeared in the Telegram channel dedicated to the musician. The VKontakte community also posted a video of the performer being brought in by the police directly from the stage.

“Fontanka” clarifies with reference to the sources that along with Baby Melo they detained the rapper Badri (Orkhan Akhmedov), who also performed on this stage. According to the publication, 23 people were detained.

The exact reason for the arrest is unknown. “Fontanka” cites sources and reports that “the command to interrupt the concert was given when they heard something unpleasant about special operations from the stage (this is what Russia calls the war against Ukraine – approx. RS)“. Other mass media write that the arrests may be related to the fact that teenagers drank alcohol in front of the club. Information was also spread about an attack by one of the spectators with a knife and about a fight at the concert. These data have not been officially confirmed.

Later, “Fontanka” specified that administrative protocols were drawn up for those delivered for drinking alcohol in prohibited places, appearing in public places in a state of intoxication, being in a state of intoxication of minors, consumption of alcoholic and alcohol-containing products and petty hooliganism.

“REN-TV” reports that Baby Melo was sent to the Center for Temporary Detention for Juvenile Offenders. He spent the night there, after which he was released.

In September 2023, the head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Myzulyna, complained about Baby Melo to the police, demanding that the artist’s songs be checked for drug propaganda. After that, Myzulyna repeatedly wrote about the rapper in her Telegram channel. In particular, she reported that he was driving on the M-11 highway in Moscow without a driver’s license. After that, the rapper’s mother was issued a report on non-fulfilment of parental responsibilities.

Baby Melo himself claimed that he does not promote drugs.
