That’s how he answered the question about the whereabouts of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who disappeared from colony No. 6 in Melekhov. Interfax quotes Peskov’s words.

In early December, associates of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny reported that they had lost contact with him. He was also not included in the court sessions. Later, the employees of the strict regime colony No. 6 in Melekhov, Vladimir region, where the oppositionist was in recent months, said that he was no longer with them.
Navalny’s whereabouts are unknown. Apparently, the ego was staged. The FSIN, as a rule, does not inform where the prisoners are sent until the stage is completed.
