Criminal proceedings have been opened in Ukraine on the fact that Russian military prisoners were used as “human shields”, the Ukrainian Service of Radio Liberty reports with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General of the country. The case was initiated under the article about the violation of the laws and customs of war based on the video material published the day before.
On December 13, the Ukrainian service of Radio Liberty published a video shot by a drone in the Zaporizhzhia region, in which a group of Russian military personnel is most likely using captured Ukrainian soldiers as human shields during an attack on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Presumably, one of the prisoners died.
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the forces of the 234th Assault Regiment were fighting on the side of the Russian army in the direction where the video was shot.
