The Investigative Committee of Russia initiated criminal cases of inciting ethnic hatred against two rap artists. These are Sherafgan Sharypov (creative pseudonym – Sheraph’gun) and Islam Zakirov (Relapse). According to SC’s suggestion, both musicians called for violent acts on national grounds at their performances. Earlier, calls to write denunciations of rappers appeared in Telegram channels.
In one of his rap battles, Sheraph’gun alluded to an incident in the city of Elektrostal, when unknown people scalped a local resident whose hairstyle was considered provocative. “I can’t figure out what kind of hairstyle is this? You didn’t seem like you were going to shoot me a cigarette, but I don’t mind scalping you,” read Sheraph’gun. Rapper Recidiv read lines about what [бьёт] to a Russian pregnant woman – “this is a preventive strike.”
After the videos of the battles were posted on the Internet, the “Multinational” Telegram channel, which opposes migration from Central Asia to Russia, published an appeal to its subscribers to contact the investigative authorities and asked to check the rappers for compliance with the law.
The Investigative Committee reported that cases of incitement to hatred had been initiated against two “natives of Central Asian republics living in Moscow”, but did not name the suspects. “Novaya Gazeta – Europe” claims that these are Sharipov (citizen of Tajikistan) and Zakirov (citizen of Kyrgyzstan).
Rapper Recidiv was detained. After his detention, he declared on video that he “insulted the Russian nation and apologizes to the Russian people.” The logo of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is on the video posted online. Recidivism (Islam Zakirov) 17 years old.
