In Chechnya, three people were killed after an attack on a policeman

On the night of February 14, in the Chechen village of Stary Achkhoi, three unknown persons opened fire and wounded a policeman, the Republican Investigation Committee said. The attackers were allegedly killed by return fire.

According to the official version, weapons and ammunition were allegedly found at the scene of the incident. A criminal case has been opened under the article about an attack on the life of a law enforcement officer, Kavkaz.Realii reports.

The night before, “several suspicious persons” were noticed in the village by a precinct officer named Suleymanov, he writes with reference to the source of the telegram channel “VChK-OGPU”. He released reinforcements, half an hour later local law enforcement officers began combing the forest and allegedly encountered armed men. Presumably, senior police sergeant Madaev was injured.

Since the beginning of the month, this is already the second report of a shooting in Chechnya with the participation of law enforcement officers. On the evening of February 4 in Grozny, police lieutenant colonel Albert Atmurzaev, head of the personnel department of the temporary operational group of organs and a subdivision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, was allegedly killed. This was reported by the telegram channels “Sapa Kavkaz” and “Baza”. Officially, the authorities did not comment on these messages.

It was reported that Atmurzaev, driving a car in the Akhmat Arena area, refused to stop at the request of Akhmat riot police officers, then they opened fire on the car.

• In recent years, armed attacks on employees of security forces in Chechnya are relatively rare. In November 2022, there was an attack on the police in the center of Grozny. A 19-year-old resident killed a traffic police officer with a knife, took possession of his pistol, engaged in a shootout and was killed.
