A 16-year-old was detained in Tatarstan for arson on the railway

In Tatarstan, three residents of Bugulma were detained on charges of setting fire to a relay box on the railway. This is reported by “Tatar-inform”.

The police detained a 16-year-old teenager. The second detainees, respectively, at 20 and 21 hours. During the interrogations, they allegedly confessed that they set the fire on the instructions of the “guy from Telegram”. For each burned closet, they were promised 15,000 rubles for the three of them, “Baza” claims.

The press service of the Kuibyshev Railway confirmed to RIA Novosti the fact that the relay cabinet was set on fire on October 5. According to the railway, the incident did not affect the movement of passenger trains. The Kuibyshev railway is working normally, – writes Idel.Realii.

A criminal case has been initiated under the article on the act of terrorism, the adult accused faces up to 20 years in prison.

• At first, criminal cases of arson were considered under the articles of damage to someone else’s property or hooliganism. Later, the authorities declared that such cases would be regarded as acts of terrorism and sabotage and would be punished by imprisonment for many years, up to life. The first sentence, in which the arson of the military enlistment office was qualified as a terrorist act, was handed down at the end of January 2023. Now dozens of citizens have been sentenced to long terms of imprisonment.
