A case of justifying terrorism has been initiated against female activist Zalina Marshenkulova

The Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case against the Russian female activist Zalina Marshenkulova under the article on the justification of terrorism. The reason, presumably, was the publication in her Telegram channel about the murder of pro-war blogger Vladlen Tatarsky in St. Petersburg in April 2023.

The initiation of the case was not officially reported, however, information about it is published with reference to Russian mass media sources. As the “Baza” publication reports, an examination has already been conducted on the case, confirming the position of the investigation.

It is not reported what kind of publication we are talking about. At the beginning of April 2023, after the attempt on Tatarsky, a message appeared on Marshenkulova’s “Women’s Power” channel, which called the “lawful” death of people participating in the attack on Ukraine.

Tatarsky is a native of the Donetsk region, he took part in battles in the east of the country on the side of pro-Russian separatists, and then participated in a full-scale Russian invasion.

Marshenkulova commented on the initiation of the case in her channel. “Life must be lived in such a way as to be in the company of the best people in the country with the title of love for family,” she wrote. She left Russia in 2022.

• Tatarsky (Maxim Fomin) was blown up in a cafe in St. Petersburg on April 2 last year. Dozens of people were injured in the explosion. The Russian court appointed 27-year-old Daria Trepova as executor. She was sentenced to 27 years in prison on charges of terrorism.
• The Russian investigation considers the Ukrainian special services to be the organizers of the attack. In March 2024, the head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, hinted on television about the involvement of the special services in the attempt, adding that the SBU would not officially recognize it.
