A citizen of Belarus was detained in Crimea on suspicion of an explosion

In the annexed Sevastopol on Monday, Russian law enforcement officers detained a 61-year-old citizen of Belarus, Vyacheslav Pyskunov, on suspicion of an attempt on a Russian military officer. Russian Telegram channels, in particular ASTRA and Baza, reported this on Tuesday. The arrest has not yet been officially announced.
According to the investigation, on September 23 in Dzhankoye, Pyskunov planted an explosive device under the car belonging to a Russian serviceman. It detonated when the car was parked at the home of a serviceman named Garnychev. His position and title are unknown. As a result of the explosion, no one was injured.
As “Baza” claims, ammunition and explosives belonging to Pyskunov were allegedly found in a warehouse in Sevastopol, and he himself, as Mash writes, allegedly admitted that he was preparing sabotage “at the behest of Ukrainian curators.” It is confirmed that he is accused of attempted murder and other articles.
The Belarusian service of Radio Liberty notes that Pyskunov was “registered in the Czech Republic”.

These cases became more frequent after the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Thus, in March 2023, a Russian court in Crimea sentenced civilian journalist and nurse Iryna Danylovych to seven years in prison in the case of possession of explosives.
