After them, a plenary session opened with the participation of international financial institutions.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani noted that reconstruction is an issue where Italy and all of Europe should demonstrate support for Ukraine. “This is important because Ukraine will be an important component of the EU and the single market… Reconstruction is starting now and we want to be at the forefront, laying the foundation for it,” he said.
The vice-president of the European Investment Bank, Gelsomina Vigotti, noted that Ukraine needs 14 billion dollars for urgent needs alone, and that it is worth focusing on those investments that cannot be postponed “until victory” so that the economic situation does not deteriorate even more.
The speeches of the highest officials – Georgia Maloney and Denis Shmyhal – are scheduled for the final part of the conference.
German officials previously also noted that in its support for the reconstruction of the destroyed infrastructure of Ukraine, Berlin will proceed from the fact that later it will be common European.
