A criminal case was opened against the aunt of the student who blew up the bomb in the FSB building

The Investigative Committee for Arkhangelsk opened a criminal case on the justification of terrorism against Lilia Zhlobytskaya, the aunt of Mikhail Zhlobytsky, who in 2018 detonated a bomb in the building of the local FSB. This is reported by “OVD-Info”.

The case was initiated at the end of December 2022, a search was conducted in Zhlobytskaya’s apartment, now she is under a restraining order. According to the investigation, in 2019 she published on her VKontakte page a link to the site stihi.ru, where a poem about an “explosion in the premises of the secret police” is posted. The indictment also mentions two reposts from the group “Narodnaya Samooborona” with photographs of Mikhail Zhlobytskyi and texts about the explosion in the Arkhangelsk FSB.

According to the conclusion of the experts, which is cited by the prosecution, the published texts contain signs of recognizing Zhlobytsky’s actions as “correct, in need of support and imitation, that is, their justification.”

In January, the prosecutor’s office approved the indictment, and the materials will be submitted to the Arkhangelsk Regional Court in the near future.

• The terrorist attack in the Arkhangelsk FSB headquarters took place on October 31, 2018. A 17-year-old student of the local polytechnic school, Mikhail Zhlobytsky, detonated a homemade bomb at the entrance to the building. As a result of the explosion, he died, three employees of the special service were injured. Before carrying out the terrorist attack, Zhlobytsky announced his plans on one of the social networks, saying that his actions were revenge of the FSB for torture.
