A member of the Duma of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District was killed in Novaya Moskva. The body of Aleksandr Kolodych with signs of violent death was found in the basement of his home, the Investigative Committee reports.

The deputy’s wife was also found in the house with multiple stab wounds, and she was hospitalized. On suspicion of murder, a 39-year-old laborer who tended the deputy’s garden was detained, Sibir.Realii reports.

The Investigative Committee reported that “a conflict arose between the deputy and the worker, which turned into a stabbing.”

“Kolodych’s wife ran to the screams, the gardener hit her with a knife,” the department reported. It is claimed that after the murder, the gardener buried the deputy’s body in the basement and hid, but then told his brother about what had happened, and he informed the deceased’s son.
