A military plane was shot down over Enakievo in the Donetsk region
A military plane was shot down over the town of Enakievo in the Donetsk region of Ukraine on Friday, March 3. The pilots managed to eject. It is not yet clear which country this plane belonged to and who shot it down. The moment the plane fell was caught on video.
Enakievo is under the control of Russian troops, relatively far from the front line. Roman Khramenkov, the head of the city administration appointed by Russia, asked residents not to go out into the streets and, if possible, to go into shelters.
“RBK-Ukraine” reports with reference to the leadership of the Air Force of Ukraine that the downed plane is a Russian Su-34. The Ukrainian Air Force claims that the plane was shot down by Ukrainian anti-aircraft guns and that one of the pilots was killed.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia has not yet commented on the incident. However, in a summary for March 3, the Ministry of Defense stated that the aircraft of the Russian Air Force shot down a Su-24 aircraft of the Air Force of Ukraine near the city of Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) in the Donetsk region. Krasnoarmeysk and Enakievo are approximately 100 kilometers from each other.
