A resident of Moscow named Arseny was drafted into the army one day, without a previously sent summons and medical commission. This was reported to Radio Svoboda by relatives of the Muscovite. The DOXA publication also tells about its history.

According to reports, he did not receive a summons to the military enlistment office. On the morning of April 19, he himself released the police team because someone tried to open the door to his apartment. Entering the apartment, the policemen grabbed him, took his passport and took him to the military enlistment office in handcuffs. He was told that he was allegedly wanted as a deserter from army service.

At the military enlistment office, they issued a summons to send him to the army on the same day. Arseny wrote statements about canceling the subpoena and about completing alternative civil service. It is claimed that he has documented diagnoses that prevent him from being called up. However, in the evening of the same day, he was sent to the assembly point without a medical board. Whether he has already been sent to the unit is currently unknown.

As noted by DOXA, this is not the first case of violent and short-term conscription in the army in Moscow. The publication notes that in December, 20 people were taken directly from the street and from work to the assembly point on Ugreshskaya Street. Several part-time students of the Financial University were taken to the same point.

In Russia, there is now a spring call for conscription. The authorities claim that conscripts will not be sent to the war in Ukraine, but allow them to be sent to border regions, such as Belgorod or Bryansk regions.
