A policeman was detained in Ukhta on suspicion of torturing a local resident

In Ukhta, a police officer suspected of torturing a local woman, whom he discovered at the scene of the murder, was detained. A criminal case for abuse of authority has been initiated against an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the regional office of the Investigative Committee reported.

The department noted that the investigation intends to apply for the policeman’s arrest. His name is not mentioned in the message. It is reported that he was extracting confessional statements from the victim.

According to Baza Telegram channel, 36-year-old police lieutenant colonel Vladimir Torlopov was detained. On the night of June 24, he arrived at the scene of the murder of 57-year-old Alexei Shirshikov. Torlopov was allegedly drunk and immediately assumed that the man was killed by his 50-year-old common-law wife. “Baza” claims that Torlopov beat the woman, dragged her by the hair, threw her on the body of the deceased and held her down, strangled and twisted her hands, demanding that she confess to the crime.

The next day after the incident, according to the Telegram channel, Torlopov was promoted to deputy head of the Ukhta Department of Internal Affairs.
