A resident of Khabarovsk Krai received 9.5 years in the case of treason

In Khabarovsk Krai, a court sentenced a local resident to nine and a half years in a strict regime prison in a case of treason in the form of espionage. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the FSB.

According to the intelligence service, the convict himself contacted the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, intending to give them information about “military facilities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, located in the territory of the Khabarovsk Territory.” The FSB believes that these data could be used by the Ukrainian side for sabotage, as well as for drone strikes on Russian equipment in “loading, storage and tracking areas.” Khabarovsk Krai is located approximately 9 thousand kilometers from Ukraine.

The FSB does not provide the name of the convicted person, and the data of the defendants in cases of treason are hidden in the court file.

According to Sibir.Realia, this is a resident of Komsomolsk-on-Amur named Anatoly, who was detained in February 2023. Neighbors previously informed the editors that the detainee lives with his wife and retired as a security guard at a local enterprise. “He comes from Ukraine, his mother lives there, Anatoly’s neighbors said.

According to eyewitnesses, the arrest took place on February 23 at five o’clock in the morning. There is a video surveillance camera at the entrance of the house, directed to the yard, but the FSB officers seized all the recordings, and “the residents were verbally warned not to disclose the information until the official publication of the video of the arrest,” – said the detainee’s neighbors.
