A resident of Krasnoyarsk was sentenced to 13 years in a case of treason
In Krasnoyarsk, the court sentenced 23-year-old Dmytro Kiselev to 13 years in a high-security colony, found him guilty of treason and preparation for sabotage. This was reported by the press service of the regional courts.
According to the court, Kiselev gave the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) data on the location of Russian troops in the city of Khartsyzsk, Donetsk region, where he lived before coming to Krasnoyarsk Territory in 2014. In addition, he received from the Ukrainian side the task “to photograph the infrastructure objects of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as the task to set fire to and blow up railway objects in the region.” The investigation claimed that Kiselev contacted the SBU via the Internet “on his own initiative.”
Earlier, the FSB claimed that in correspondence with the Ukrainian special services, Kiselev indicated the location of the building of the former pipe factory in Khartsyzsk, as well as the boiler house, trolleybus depot and substation. In addition, he gave the coordinates of objects in the closed city of Zelenogorsk in the Krasnoyarsk region, the city of Zaozerny, the former railway station “Sibiryak” near the village of Uspenka in the Rybinsk district, where the suspect lives.
- In 2023, at least 148 people in Russia were charged with treason, espionage and secret cooperation with foreigners, and at least 88 such cases were brought to court, Sibir.Realii calculated. This is a historical record for the number of similar criminal cases. Human rights activists believe that the real number of cases can be much larger, and the pace of prosecution will continue to grow in 2024.
