A resident of St. Petersburg was sent to a pre-trial detention center because of RDK leaflets

In St. Petersburg, a criminal case was opened about calls for terrorism against a 25-year-old local resident, reports the office of the city’s Investigative Committee. He is accused of distributing leaflets to those fighting on the side of Ukraine of the Russian Volunteer Corps and the “Freedom of Russia” legion.

The Investigative Committee claims that on August 20, the accused received from an unknown person via the Internet mock-ups of leaflets “promoting the activities of the Ukrainian paramilitary association, recognized by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation as a terrorist organization.” Then he allegedly printed and pasted them in the Kirovsky District of St. Petersburg. The department does not name either the detainee’s name or the name of the “military association”, reports Sever.Realii.

On August 21, the “Baza” telegram channel reported that a philharmonic cleaner was detained in St. Petersburg with leaflets from the Russian Volunteer Corps and the “Freedom of Russia” legion. The message says that the detainee’s name is Fyodor Konovalov. The same name calls “Rotonda”. According to the publication, Konovalov worked in the Philharmonic and ran the YouTube channel “Zaliznychni magistrali” (“Railway highways”), where he posted videos of train trips in the Lenoblast. A video with the support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was also published on the ego channel. “Rotonda” points out that Konovalov has special features of mental development and reports that he studied at the technical school for the disabled “Professional-rehabilitation center of SPb GBU” as a tailor.

Philharmonic director Ilya Cherkasov confirmed Konovalov’s detention to 78.ru. He pointed out that the detainee has been disabled since childhood.

The court allegedly sent the detainee to a pre-trial detention center for two months. He himself asked for a measure unrelated to the arrest.

• The Russian Volunteer Corps and the Legion “Freedom of Russia” are armed formations, allegedly consisting of Russian citizens and acting on the side of Ukraine. The Ukrainian command does not confirm that these formations are directly subordinate to him.
