Igor Yakunychev, a resident of the village of Pangoda in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, was forcibly hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital in the Tyumen region. Two criminal cases have been initiated against him: on the articles on the so-called fakes about the army and on the justification of terrorism. This is reported by “OVD-Info”.

In early April, Yakunychev was searched for criminal cases initiated last year. After that, the security forces forcibly took the suspect to the village of Vinzyly in the Tyumen Region, where the Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital is located.

In reviews of the institution on the “2Gys” service and on Google, former patients complain of bullying and ill-treatment by employees.

The first criminal case against Yakunychev was initiated in May 2023. He was accused of spreading military “fakes” for publishing in VKontakte about mass murders in the Ukrainian city of Bucha during the period when it was occupied by Russian troops. Then he was also searched. According to “OVD-Info”, Yakunychev was beaten during detention. The court chose for him a measure of restraint in the form of prohibition of certain actions. At the beginning of March of this year, this case entered the court.

In the summer, an administrative report was drawn up on Yakunychev about the discrediting of the army and he was fined 30 thousand rubles. The reason for the fine was a video about a memorial with a T-54 tank in the village of Pangody, on which the letter Z was placed. Yakunychev said in the video that this violates the law on the protection of cultural heritage objects.

The second criminal case against Yakunychev was initiated in December under the article on the justification of terrorism. The reason for this case was a video about the “Freedom of Russia” legion.

  • According to “OVD-Info” data, as of April 2024, more than 850 people were accused in criminal cases caused by an anti-war stance.
