In St. Petersburg, local resident Oleg Pronin was arrested for graffiti in the shape of a heart, which he painted on the walls of two houses. The investigation claims that Oleg Pronyn “desecrated” the buildings, painted them with inscriptions and drew a heart “as a sign of love and respect” for the armed forces of Ukraine, reports the United Press Service of the Courts of St. Petersburg.
Pronin is accused of vandalism motivated by political enmity, as well as possession of weapons – he allegedly bought and kept ammunition for a TT pistol and a PPSh submachine gun at home.
On Saturday, the Krasnogvardei District Court arrested Oleg Pronin until December 11. The accused pleaded guilty, reports Sever.Realii with reference to the judicial press service.
After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the authorities are actively pursuing citizens who speak out against the war and express support for the people of Ukraine and its army. They are accused of “discrediting” Russian troops and “military fakes”. Authors of anti-war graffiti are also often accused of “vandalism.”
