On the evening of Saturday and on the night of Sunday, Russian troops launched a rocket attack on the Podgorodnenskaya municipality of the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine. Two multi-story and ten private houses were partially destroyed. The body of a two-year-old girl was taken out of the rubble on Sunday morning, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, Sergey Lysak, said. 22 people were injured, including five children.
Nikopol was also shelled in the Dnipropetrovsk region, there were no casualties.
Kyiv was also attacked by missiles and drones at night. According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Sergey Popko, the missiles were launched from the Caspian Sea area by Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers. Popko said that all of them were shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces. “Not a single air target reached the capital. Everything that was directed towards the city was destroyed by the air defense even on the distant approaches. The second night, the people of Kiev did not hear the sounds of explosions overhead. Sincere gratitude to our anti-aircraft defense for the saved lives,” Popko wrote.
On Sunday night, an air alert was announced in all regions of Ukraine.
Since then, the Ukrainian capital is increasingly subjected to rocket fire and drone attacks. The Russian side has repeatedly denied accusations of deliberate attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine, stressing that it attacks only objects related to the Armed Forces and military infrastructure.
