The 15-year-old son of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, Adam was awarded the Order “Labor Valor of Russia” and the medal “For Contribution to the Development of the Russian Special Forces University” of the first degree. These are Adam Kadyrov’s eighth and ninth awards in two months.

The series of awards for 15-year-old Adam Kadyrov began after Nikita Zhuravel, arrested on the Koran burning case, was beaten on camera. A part of Russian society then demanded that the teenager be brought to justice, but the police refused to open a case, since Adam had not yet reached the age of criminal responsibility. He also could not receive some of the awards listed below due to his age.
In the last two months, Adam Kadyrov received the title of hero of Chechnya, the position of head of the security department of the head of the republic, the highest orders for services to Tatarstan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, the Chechen order “Daymehkan Siy” (“Pride of the Nation”), the religious order “For services to the Ummah” and the order “For service to the religion of Islam” 1st degree.
- At the end of September, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, published a video on his Telegram channel, in which his son Adam beats 19-year-old Nikita Zhuravel, who is in a pre-trial detention center on charges of burning the Koran. Kadyrov Sr. approved these actions. The Russian authorities did not react to the beating of the arrested person.
- At the same time, the court in Chechnya extended Nikita Zhuravel’s term of stay in pre-trial detention center until April 20, 2024. In the photographs from the meeting, traces of beatings were visible on the accused’s face.
- The Memorial Human Rights Center recognized 19-year-old Nikita Zhuravel as a political prisoner.
