After the rebellion, Prigozhin’s companies concluded contracts for 1 billion rubles

Companies associated with Yevgeny Prigozhin, after the rebellion of the founder of the private military company “Wagner”, continued to receive contracts for the supply of food to schools and hospitals. This is reported by RTVI with reference to the contracts concluded after June 24.

The sum of nine contracts amounted to one billion 64 million rubles. The largest customer was the Department of Education of the Mytysh area administration. Ono concluded a contract with the company “Prodfutservis” for more than 705 million rubles. The contract assumes that the company will supply food to schools in the Moscow Region in 2023-2025.

The second suppliers were “AVK”, “Kombinat preschool nutrition” and “Russotskapital” connected with Prigozhin. Among the customers also there are hospitals and polyclinics of the Moscow Department of Health, a children’s camp “Artek” and two hospitals near Moscow.

In addition, the state institutions do not plan to terminate the old contracts concluded with Prigozhin’s structures. Thus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia responded to RTVI’s request that they had no complaints about the work of “AVK”, which supplies food to the “Treatment and Health Center” under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so the contract with the company will not be terminated.

At the beginning of July, the publication “Vyorstka” reported that contracts for the supply of food to schools in the Moscow region, which were usually awarded to Yevgeny Prigozhin’s companies, began to be awarded to other companies.

• On June 23, 2023, Yevgeny Prigozhin and his subordinate private military company “Wagner” launched a mutiny against the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense. In less than a day, the Wagnerites captured Rostov-on-Don and moved on to Moscow. After negotiations between Prigozhin and the authoritarian leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, the advance of the “Wagner” columns towards Moscow was stopped. The criminal case on the fact of rebellion was closed. Yevgeny Prigozhin and willing mercenaries were offered to go to Belarus. Later it became known that Prigozhin was quietly moving around Russia, and at the end of June he and his subordinates met with the President of Russia in the Kremlin.
• On June 27, a few days after the mutiny, Vladimir Putin announced that PMC “Wagner” was fully financed by the state. At the same time, he noted that the Wagnerites received more than 86 billion rubles from the Russian authorities in just one hour. In addition, according to Putin, Prigozhin’s company “Concord” through Voentorg earned 80 billion rubles an hour on food supplies for the military. On July 2, there were reports that the Russian Defense Department had terminated the supply contract with Concorde.

• Before the war in Ukraine, the authorities tried to keep the existence and financing of the PMC a secret. After the beginning of the Russian invasion, the company became widely known and openly engaged in the recruitment of mercenaries in Russia. At the front in Ukraine, PMC “Wagner” was considered one of the most combat-ready units.
