Akhmetov initiates arbitration against the Russian Federation for seized assets, in particular “Donbas Arena”

Billionaire Rinat Akhmetov will initiate arbitration against the Russian Federation, in which he will demand from the aggressor compensation for all losses caused to him in 2014-2017 as a result of asset seizure.

She reported about it press service holding company SCM, the founder and beneficiary of which is Akhmetov.

As part of the arbitration, Akhmetov will demand from Russia to compensate him for all damages caused to him during the years 2014-2017 as a result of interference in the activities or expropriation of assets and investments by terrorist groups, the so-called “DPR” and “LPR”, under the leadership or control of Russia.

Such assets include dozens of enterprises in the mining, metallurgical, energy sectors, real estate, in particular – “Enakiiv Metallurgical Plant”, “DTEK Rovenkyanthracite”, “DTEK Sverdlovanthracite”educational and training base “Kirsha” and “Donbas Arena”in the construction of which more than 400 million dollars were invested.

“Russia must be punished for its crimes against Ukraine and Ukrainians, which have been counted since 2014. Therefore, I am filing a lawsuit for full compensation by the aggressor country for all the damages caused to us since 2014 in the illegally occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. … The recovered funds I I will invest in the restoration and construction of new enterprises, the creation of jobs and the growth of Ukraine’s economy,” Akhmetov said.
