The Russian, Aleksey Moskalev, sentenced to two years in prison on the charge of discrediting the army, is in a pre-trial detention center in the Belarusian city of Zhodyno. RusNews and DailyStorm were informed about this by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
In the message quoted by the journalists, it is said that “as of April 4, the specified citizen was transferred to the pre-trial detention center in the city of Zhodino, where he is awaiting a decision on deportation. It is assumed that Moskalyov will be transferred to the Russian Federation to serve his sentence based on the decision previously issued by the Efremovsky Interdistrict court of the Tula region”.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia reported that Moskalyov did not complain about his health, and his relatives and lawyers did not receive any appeals.
The Russian Embassy in Minsk confirmed to TASS that Moskalyov is in a pre-trial detention center in Zhodyno.
- On March 28, the Efremovsky district court sentenced Moskalyov to two years in a general regime colony. The defendant was not present at the hearing, as he had escaped from house arrest the day before. On March 30, Moskalyov was detained in Minsk by the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs. After that he disappeared.
- On April 6, the court in Efremov had to consider the issue of limiting Alexei Moskalev’s parental rights. The meeting was adjourned. The court sent a request to the FSIN to find Moskalyov and ensure his participation in the process.
- In the spring of last year, Alexey Moskalyov’s daughter, whom he is raising alone, drew an anti-war picture in class. The school principal contacted the police. The Moskalyovs’ apartment was searched.
- In the father’s social networks, the police found comments in support of Ukraine, as well as caricatures of Russian President Vladimir Putin. After that, Alexey Moskalyov was first reported under the article of the Administrative Code on the discrediting of the Russian army, fined 32 thousand rubles, and then a criminal case was opened on the same charge. After Moskalyov’s arrest, his daughter was sent to an orphanage, and then given to her mother, who expressed her readiness to “break” her 13-year-old daughter’s thoughts about politics.
