According to a number of reports, an explosion occurred in a cafe in the center of St. Petersburg on Sunday. As the Telegram channel “Fontanka SPB Online” writes, this cafe on the Universitetskaya Embankment previously belonged to Yevgeny Prigozhin, a businessman close to the Kremlin.
TASS, with reference to the emergency services of the city, reported that an explosive device went off in the “Street Bar” cafe on Universitetskaya embankment. One person died, six were injured.
“Fontanka” reports on 16 victims, and, according to the sources of the publication, military corpsman Vladlen Tatarsky (real name Maksym Fomin) died.
The Telegram channel of the Cheka-OGPU also wrote about the death of Tatarsky, noting that his creative evening was held in the cafe. “Meduza” drew attention to this. There is no official confirmation of the information.
Tatarsky fought in the past as part of the pro-Russian forces in the Donbass, talked about Russia’s war in Ukraine. Ukrainian mass media call Tatarsky a Kremlin propagandist. Russian mass media write that approximately 100 people were present at the dinner, and the explosion occurred near the stage.
In social networks, it is noted that on the weekend, the discussion club “Cyber Z Front” is gathering in the cafe where the explosion occurred.
