Kursk Oblast Governor Roman Starovoyt reported on April 2 about mortar shelling by the Ukrainian military in the village of Nikolayevo-Daryino in the Suzhan district. According to his information, 7 people were injured.

In his Telegram channel, Starovoit wrote that at the time of the shelling, the victims were cleaning the cemetery. “Among them are three children and a teenage girl with shrapnel injuries of light and medium severity. According to preliminary information, one of the women received serious injuries,” Starovoit writes. He also noted that fences, facades, and windows on the territory of four homeowners were damaged.

After the beginning of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, which many countries of the world condemned as a cruel and unprovoked war, the authorities of the border regions of Russia, including the Kursk and Belgorod regions, regularly report shelling of populated areas. As a rule, they do not comment on this in Kyiv.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday, in its daily summary, reported five missile and 22 air strikes per day. In particular, it is noted that the most massive shelling occurred in the city of Konstantinovka, Donetsk region, which was hit by two rockets. There was also a massive shelling from rocket systems of salvo fire. As a result, six people died and eight were injured, the civil and military infrastructure of the city was damaged.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia did not comment on the attack on Konstantinovka. Moscow denies intentional attacks against civilian objects and the civilian population.
