On the Krymsky bridge, which connects the territory of Russia with the annexed Crimea, there were explosions on the night of Monday. Traffic is stopped. Two dead are reported.

The Russian head of the annexed Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, wrote that on the Krymsky bridge “an extraordinary incident occurred in the area of ​​the 145th support from the Krasnodar region”.

RBC-Ukraine and “Ukrainskaya Pravda” with reference to sources in the Security Service of Ukraine claim that the night attack on the Crimean bridge was an operation by the naval forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the SBU. “The bridge was attacked with the help of surface drones,” the sources told the publication.

The Security Service of Ukraine has not yet commented on these statements.

At night, the “Novosti Kerch Krym Russia” public in VKontakte reported about two explosions with an interval of 15 minutes, which were heard in different districts of Kerch. After that, the drivers who were on the Krymsky Bridge were turned around and sent to a safe distance.

Readovka reported that a missile hit the bridge, causing the 145th support to collapse, and two spans to collapse. The Gray Zone channel, which is close to PMC “Wagner”, claims that the bridge was hit twice.

The Ministry of Transport of Russia stated that the road surface was damaged as a result of the emergency, but “the structures of the spans themselves are on their supports.” The ferry crossing between the peninsula and the Krasnodar Territory is temporarily closed. The movement of railway transport was resumed around nine in the morning, the operational headquarters informed RIA Novosti.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, later reported that a married couple from the Belgorod region had died as a result of an emergency. The daughter who was riding with them in the car received moderate injuries. According to Mash, a 14-year-old girl is in intensive care.

The authorities of Crimea, annexed by Russia, have not yet officially announced what exactly happened on the bridge.

The representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine, Andrey Yusov, refused to comment, quoting his chief, Kirill Budanov: “The Crimean bridge is too much construction there.”

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, previously said that he considers the Krymskiy bridge “a perfectly legitimate goal” for Ukraine.

The representative of the operational command “South” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Natalya Humenyuk said on Monday morning that the explosions on the Krymsky bridge could be a provocation from Russia against the background of the discussion of the extension of the grain deal, the term of which expires on July 17.

The Krymsky bridge with a length of 19 km was opened in 2018. It connects the Krsnodar region of Russia and the annexed Crimea. On October 8, 2022, an explosion occurred on the bridge, according to the official version, a truck filled with explosives exploded. Several people died. After this, the movement of trucks on the bridge was prohibited.
