Anatoly Bykov was sentenced to 12 years in prison for murder

In Krasnoyarsk, the court found businessman and politician Anatoly Bykov guilty of organizing the murder of Vladimir Filippov and sentenced him to 12 years of imprisonment in a high-security colony. This is reported by the regional office of the Investigative Committee.

The prosecutor asked for 13 years in prison for the businessman. Taking into account the sentence on the second two criminal cases, Bykov’s total term of imprisonment will be 20 years.

According to the investigation, on the night of June 17-18, 1998, members of Bykov’s group shot Filippov six times in Krasnoyarsk. For murder, they used gas pistols converted to fire live cartridges.

The investigation assumes that Bykov ordered to kill Filippov “in order to strengthen his influence in the criminal world.” Vladimir Filippov, nicknamed “Filipp”, was considered an authority in the criminal environment, the message says.

The sentence was imposed taking into account the current sentence: in May 2023, the court sentenced Anatoliy Bykov to 11 years in prison in the case of incitement to the murder of businessman Andrey Nekolov in 2005. At that time, he was serving a 13-year sentence in the case of the murder of Krasnoyarsk residents Naumov and Voitenko in 1994.

• Anatoly Bykov was a member of the board of directors of the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant (KrAZ), and was its co-owner.
• From 1997 to 2016, Bykov, who owns business assets in Krasnoyarsk Krai, was elected as a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the region. He participated in a number of political projects and provided them with financial support.
• In recent years, the politician did not have the right to participate in the elections, since in 2002 he was sentenced to six years of probation for organizing the murder of Krasnoyarsk authority Vilor Struganov. In 2020, the ban on participation in the elections expired. Immediately after that, he was detained.
• In relation to Bykov, the case for non-payment of taxes was terminated, since he fully compensated the damage. The SC also closed the case on the organization of a criminal community due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
