Anton Kartavyn, an independent member of the Novosibirsk city council, found traces of the installation of a listening device in his reception room. He announced this in his Telegram channel.
The deputy assumes that unknown people installed the camera after November 2022, as this date is on the laid cable. The tracking device itself was not found in the room. Earlier, traces of wiretapping were found on the second independent deputy of Novosibirsk, Svetlana Kaverzyna.
“The intruders got scared and took her away [камеру], apparently, at the same time as the one that was at Svetlana’s. But the cable, even though it is cut, is still under voltage and may very well shock you,” Kartavyn writes.
According to the deputy, unknown persons gained access to the reception room with a separate entrance, closed with three locks, and returned this weekend to “cover their tracks”. In a conversation with the correspondent of Sibir.Realii, Kartavyn noted that his reception room has its own locks on the doors, but this did not prevent him from entering the room twice. The deputy believes that the person who broke into the premises had operational skills, as he carefully opened the locks, entered and left.
In the near future, the independent deputy of Novosibirsk will file a complaint with the police about illegal surveillance.
- Anton Kartavyn is a deputy of the city council of Novosibirsk, elected in September 2020. In 2023, he became one of the leaders of the protest against the increase in utilities tariffs in the region, as well as the author of the initiative to return the direct elections of the mayor of Novosibirsk.
