35-year-old Ukrainian boxer Artem Dalakyan defended the title of world champion according to the version of the WBA in the lightweight division. He competed against Costa Rican David Jimenez in London. This is reported by “Glavpost”

For the Ukrainian, this was the first fight since 2021 and the first in his career outside of Ukraine. Jimenez boxed for the first time in Europe.

The start of the match remained with Dalakyan, as well as the entire first half. Artem worked more actively with his jab and attacked more. However, in the second half of the fight Jimenez began to seize the initiative, the 11th round was especially successful for him.

As a result, the fight went the entire distance, and the winner was determined by the decision of the judges. Artem Dalakyan won by unanimous decision: twice by 115:113, once by 116:112. During his career, the Ukrainian fought 21 fights, winning every one of them.

Biathlete Anastasiya Merkushina won a gold award at the European Championship, which is held in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
