Azat Myftakhov will be detained on the day of his release from the colony

Mathematician Azat Myftakhov, who is finishing serving his sentence in a colony on charges of setting fire to the office of “Edinoy Rossii”, will be detained again on the day of his release, the media reports with reference to various sources.

Earlier, a new criminal case was instituted against Myftakhov under the article on public calls for terrorist activities, justification or propaganda of terrorism. On Tuesday, the investigators asked to officially interrogate the accused, but he refused to testify, since during the interrogation, not his defense attorney, but a lawyer by appointment was present.

According to a new criminal case initiated by the FSB, Miftahov faces up to five years in prison. What exactly it is connected with – it is not reported.

The mathematician has almost served time in his first case – he is due to be released on September 4.

At the moment, Myftakhov is in the SHIZO, where he was sent for allegedly ignoring the request of a colony employee about the time to start cleaning the cell.

On August 17, Rosfinmonitoring added the mathematician to the list of terrorists and extremists.
