Britain and the USA are discussing a joint fight against “dirty” Russian money

British Security Minister Tom Tugendhat discussed with top US officials the strengthening of cooperation in the fight against the evasion of sanctions by Russians under sanctions.

It is reported Bloomberg.

The focus of government officials’ attention is now how to stop the withdrawal of Russian money to various jurisdictions and assets that are easier to hide.

“I am meeting with my colleagues to ensure that together we continue to strengthen our fight against illicit finance and state threats, and to protect our democracies from the threats we face today,” Tugendhat said in comments to Bloomberg.

The British minister will meet with colleagues from the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice and the FBI, as well as hold meetings with members of Congress and senators to discuss improving international cooperation in the fight against “dirty” money.

The US task force KleptoCapture tracks sanctions violators and tracks their assets, while Britain, with its special task force, has blocked or frozen more than $30 billion in assets of sanctioned Russians.
