The SBI caught the ex-head of the customs post in the Black Sea port for demanding a bribe – Arakhamia

The State Bureau of Investigation has exposed the former head of the Chornomorsk Port customs post for extorting and receiving a bribe for the unhindered export of grain through the “grain corridor”.

About this reported head of the “Servant of the People” faction in the Verkhovna Rada, David Arakhamiya.

“A few hours ago, the SBI, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office, took the former head of the Chornomorsk-port customs post, who demanded and received illegal benefits for the unimpeded export of grain and the issuance of certificates,” he said.

Arakhamia emphasized that the scheme was exposed at a time when Ukrainian grain exports continue thanks to the efforts of the Ukrainian side, in particular the military, for the operation of the “grain corridor”, and business is “fighting for every dollar of export revenue.”

We remind you:

Currently, there are no surnames for the position of the new head of customs – “now there are such zero candidates“, Arahamiya said earlier.

At a meeting on Wednesday, February 1, the Cabinet of Ministers recognized as having lost the validity of the order on the temporary assignment of the duties of the head of the State Customs Service (SSC) to Vyacheslav Demchenko.

Thus the government actually released him from the position of acting the head of the customs service, before which Demchenko was in charge of the Department of Combating Contraband and Violations of Customs Rules of the State Customs Service.
